Although it lacks the mobility of the Viper in a dogfight, the twin-linked heavy cannons provide substantial anti-capital strike capability

The Taipan is based on Ralph Mcquarrie's original Viper concept that was later adapted and used in the "Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century" TV franchise
