Background[edit]

The Taipan is a retrofitted fighter design of the First Cylon War used by Colonial forces, supposedly of Kobollian descent.

Although it lacks the mobility of the Viper in a dogfight, the twin-linked heavy cannons provide substantial anti-capital strike capability.

Special Abilities[edit]

  • Squad repair - All squadrons can be ordered to return to their parent ship and undergo repairs during battle, this can even replace lost craft in the squadron and can be done regardless of how much damage and losses the squadron has taken so long as the squadron has not become fully destroyed beforehand.
  • Missile interception - The Taipan can attempt to intercept incoming enemy missiles, by giving orders to defend the target against such a threat.
