Background

The Adamant-class carrier, designed by Sinon Quade, the architect of the Jupiter-class battlestar over a decade before the outbreak of the Cylon War, became the cornerstone of the Colonial Fleet during the outbreak of the First Cylon War

What it lacked in speed, it made up with its constant presence and firepower. It is unclear if any Adamant class vessels survived up to the Fall of the Twelve Colonies (Battlestar Galactica Deadlock).
