Source?

I pulled this from the William Adama page (indirectly, via Spencerian's experiment). Does anybody have a link to the original text for this? It'd be helpful to anchor this as a valid source if we had a link (even if only to a cached version of the Sky One website). --Steelviper 12:34, 19 June 2006 (CDT)

I went over this a lot in a previous discussion and I'm really against it: We found out that this SkyOne information hasn't actually been online in over a year: it got yanked. But enough people copied it onto other fansites that someone was able to find it and post it again here. ***The fact that it was *taken down* from the SkyOne website really makes me think it wasn't even accurate anymore, so Ron & Co. asked to take it down. It MIGHT reflect early Series Bible stuff, but A) we're not sure of that, or if it was just made up B) if it was real at the time it might be from such an early build that it's no longer accurate, like that early draft of the Miniseries that was floating around. ---->If you look, the bio pages for all of the main casts' characters have SkyOne information at the bottom....and if you check, I've already added in commentary at the bottom of each one, pointing out how aired episodes have actually contradicted them on many points. I think we should just remove it all from BattlestarWiki entirely. It's come to the point where *we* are actually the only ones keeping it alive. --The Merovingian (C - E) 14:56, 19 June 2006 (CDT)
That's not acceptable. This is not a pipe... er, Battlestar Galactica. *We* cannot be a source. If nobody can step up and provide a concrete source for this, then it should be deleted per BW:CITE. --Steelviper 15:17, 19 June 2006 (CDT)
I agree. No extant source provides this material anymore. --The Merovingian (C - E) 17:49, 19 June 2006 (CDT)

Deletion

Should we remove ALL SkyOne information, from all articles? I think we should --The Merovingian (C - E) 10:49, 20 June 2006 (CDT)

Maybe you should raise the issue at BW:CITE. --Steelviper 10:57, 20 June 2006 (CDT)
I did, May 21st. I'll bring up the matter again. --The Merovingian (C - E) 11:01, 20 June 2006 (CDT)
Where do you draw the line? The Sky One site is an official site. I'm sure you are aware of Sky financing the first series of BSG. If you choose to not allow any Sky One material when do you stop? What about the Sci Fi website... What about the guide book...? None of which written directly by Ron Moore. So long as things are clearly cited from the Sky One site using the <ref> tag things I think they should stay --Mercifull 11:27, 20 June 2006 (CDT)
Mercifull you do not understand: it's not that this was posted at SkyOne that matters. Whether it originated on SkyOne or Scifi doesn't really matter, so much as my point that it was *removed* from the internet.--The Merovingian (C - E) 11:42, 20 June 2006 (CDT)
The Sky One debate should probably go on over at BW:CITE. As for this particular bit of information, there isn't any Sky One url to cite anymore (or anyplace else, as far as I know), so it currently lacks a citable "home". (Which is why I proposed deletion.) I was NOT proposing the deletion of all Sky One info, though I believe Merv is (over at the CITE talk page). --Steelviper 11:36, 20 June 2006 (CDT)
Well SV, if you want to justify the deletion of this by "there is no citable source url for it anymore"...by that logic all SkyOne information on BattlestarWiki would be unusable as well. They're kind of linked. By the way, I've never actually seen this information *at* SkyOne, I'm relying entirely upon other people who posted it here, not my own two peepers. --The Merovingian (C - E) 11:44, 20 June 2006 (CDT)
As this topic is relevant to more than one article, please continue this discussion on Battlestar Wiki talk:Citation Jihad#Deletion. --April Arcus 14:24, 28 June 2006 (CDT)
