Gorgons are creatures within the mythology that surrounds the Colonial's polytheistic religion.
In his blaspheming rant in a temple on Galactica, Gaius Baltar points out the fact that Asclepius' demise was brought about by the blood of a Gorgon (Escape Velocity).
