He celebrates the outbreak of the Caprica-Sagittaron Conflict with his brothers, Greg and Ben, the latter following in Tanner's footsteps (Battlestar Galactica: Cylon War #1).

Tanner is later killed in action (Battlestar Galactica: Cylon War #2).
