The details of your proposal will go here. Be as detailed as you'd like or believe necessary. It is recommended that you find that balance between ''downloading'' information and merely ''telling'' what your idea is.
In lieu of attempting to solicit outside opinions from users regarding the wiki, one idea is to create a blog. The blog will be an outlet for administrators and users to bring up topics pertaining to the wiki, such as announcements on changes within the wiki (updates, new policies, new Think Tank proposals, etc.). Through the blog people will be able to voice their opinions through another venue. Basically, this is for people who may not be comfortable in using the MediaWiki software or don't know how to use it, it's similar to a message board, except the subject of discussion can be more tightly controlled.

The proposal should strive to answer some of the common questions, such as:
Obviously, the Wiki Blog is not meant for personal blogging, but for discussing the wiki itself. Through the blog, we can also add a survey feature for people to fill out to give us feedback on what we're doing good and what we need to improve upon.

Do note that the answers to the above questions should be in paragraph form, particularly for proposals of a larger scale.

This is an archive successful proposal that was vetted through the Think Tank, a place where ideas of all kinds are proposed and worked upon by the community prior to implementation. Please do not modify this proposal.

Wiki Blog

In lieu of attempting to solicit outside opinions from users regarding the wiki, one idea is to create a blog. The blog will be an outlet for administrators and users to bring up topics pertaining to the wiki, such as announcements on changes within the wiki (updates, new policies, new Think Tank proposals, etc.). Through the blog people will be able to voice their opinions through another venue. Basically, this is for people who may not be comfortable in using the MediaWiki software or don't know how to use it, it's similar to a message board, except the subject of discussion can be more tightly controlled.

Obviously, the Wiki Blog is not meant for personal blogging, but for discussing the wiki itself. Through the blog, we can also add a survey feature for people to fill out to give us feedback on what we're doing good and what we need to improve upon.

The software to be used, unless otherwise decided, will be the WordPress blogging software, which is free and easy to set up, as well as to moderate.

Goals and Control

The goal of such a blog will be to post news and updates regarding the Wiki via another form. For instance, if a new episode guide or Think Tank proposal is added, we will note this there. The blog will also be used to update people on technical changes to the wiki, such as updates to the MediaWiki software, server moves, etc.

The question of "who will post" on the blog has been rasied. Therefore, a RFA-type setup will be put into place; people can either be suggested or self-nominated for posting.

To "control the beast", we will create something called the "Blog Ministry", which will allow on-wiki control of the blog and be the place to establish guidelines for blog-posting, requests for blog control (RFBC's, could be the new acronym, I guess) and other blog-related issues.

It should be reiterated that this is to gather feedback. It can also be used to gather feedback from new or present policies, but it is not a mechanism to create policy. All policy should be made on-wiki via Think Tank.
