Version Goof, HD Format?

Sorry; seems that FordSierra may have uploaded one of the improved caps from the HD version but I didn't realize it. If this is the case, please undo my rollback on the image tag. --Spencerian 12:24, 12 June 2006 (CDT)

Indeed it is an HD screencap - hence the 1280x720p resolution ;) --Fordsierra4x4 12:32, 12 June 2006 (CDT)
Oof. The compression artifacts are pretty horrible - is it coming in from the cable box like that, or are you overcompressing it prior to uploading? --April Arcus 12:36, 12 June 2006 (CDT)
Filesize is less than 90k, most of my jpeg images that size are in the several hundreds. --Mercifull 12:38, 12 June 2006 (CDT)
Well thats the way that Media Player Classic takes them - i'll see if i can adjust the settings, but it looks pretty much identical to the on-screen version. Remember, the Miniseries was not shot on HD - it was film, so theres grain in the picture. --Fordsierra4x4 12:42, 12 June 2006 (CDT)
Okay - I think I know why it was looking pants. Media Player Classic is set to JPEG Quality of 60% by default. So, i saved it as a Bitmap, passed it through photoshop's contrast filter then saved to JPEG with 85% quality. It doesnt make any difference having more quality than that - even in the H.264 copy of this - there are still artifacts, as is to be expected with compressed datastream. It's still nicer to look at than the DVD version though :) --Fordsierra4x4 12:56, 12 June 2006 (CDT)
