Action figures of characters from the Reimagined and Original Battlestar Galactica Series have been produced by several companies at different times. This page is an overview with an emphasis upon the action figures currently in production for the Reimagined Series.

Note on Similar Products

Action figures are distinguished from similar toys primarily by their scale, and by their level of articulation. Similar products sometimes imprecisely referred to as action figures, but considered separate items by Universal Studios Consumer Products Group, include:

  • 12" dolls: A license to produce 12" dolls is currently held by Majestic Studios.
  • MiniMates are currently produced as a joint effort between Art Asylum and Diamond Select Toys.
  • Statues: A license to produce statues similar in appearance and scale to that of action figures is currently held by Hasbro, which released a modern Cylon Centurion in early 2007 as part of their Titanium series.

Each of the above items has their own wiki entry.

Original Show

Action figures from the Original Series were produced by Mattel in the late 1970s, and by Joyride Studios in 2005.

Current Show

Diamond Select Toys & Collectibles, LLC (DST) announced in January 2007 a licensing agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group to manufacture action figures based on the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series.[1]

Series One (2007)

Series One will be formally announced at the Toy Fair trade show February 2007. DST's initial press release indicated that Series One will include several key characters including Number Six. Prototype sketches were subsequently shown at the 2007 UK ToyFair revealing Number Six in her red dress, and Lee "Apollo" Adama in flight suit with gloved and ungloved sets of hands, and alternate head with helmet.[2]
