I believe this to be an "Original BattleStar" class...while its not clear which Battlestar she is, at the time of the miniseries production, this was the only other shot with a Battlestar that we see...and the likely hood that they designed an entirely new CG Model for this shot is slim given Bugetary concerns..though she may been intended to be a newer class of ship in the script.(Wondering if this is covered in the Novelization?) If you look closely though...it does appear that this Battlestar still has all her exterior Armour plating attached...unlike Galactica who had been partially stripped prior to decomisioning.--Stratohead

A) It is impossible to tell from this shot if the armor is there or not or whatever. B) We've pretty much settled upon the idea that the Novelization is in no way canoncial (although it's fun for several tidbits). C) I think we also figured out that the original battlestar class, "Galacitca-type Battlestars", weren't all retired: what Doral meant by "last of her kind" is that Galactica was never given major upgrades and refits, while the other ones were; I think their hulls were heavily refitted. Sort of like how the USS Missouri saw service in both World War II and Persian Gulf I. --The Merovingian 12:39, 10 February 2006 (EST)
In reality, it's unlikely that the zoic team had modeled any additional battlestar classes for the miniseries. Since the shot was so short, they probably used the Galactica-type model. That said, the image really is too blurry to tell for sure, and I prefer to leave the matter up to the imagination. --April Arcus 12:46, 10 February 2006 (EST)
Perhaps this pic would fit as a thumb in the right side of the overview of Galactica type battlestar? (Although it kind of makes the "last of her kind still in service" in that paragraph make less sense). --Steelviper 13:01, 10 February 2006 (EST)
I tend to agree with SV, and after looking at the article where its placed, it seems appropriate enough, although I do feel that it was just the Galactica models reused for a one-shot graphic. I like to imagine. --Spencerian 17:02, 10 February 2006 (EST)
I enjoy it's current use, as well.--The Merovingian 17:06, 10 February 2006 (EST)

It is not "impossible to tell from this shot if the armor is there or not or whatever"...Photoshop can tell you alot about an image...as well as viewing the scene on DVD on a large HiDef Television. The Armour is indeed in place on this model in this sequence from the miniseries.--Stratohead

If you'd like to upload a screen capture demonstrating this, I'm sure we'd all appreciate it. --April Arcus 23:05, 10 February 2006 (EST)
